The Reuben Center recognizes that drug and alcohol rehab programs are the first step to recovery. What’s next is the Reuben Center.

The Reuben Center is a Sober Living Home, also known as a Mentoring Home. Our purpose exists to partner with local and nationwide rehab facilities; to assist in transitioning individuals in recovery treatment centers to long-term recovery as they ease back into life while maintaining sobriety.

Our purpose exists to partner with local and nationwide rehab facilities, treatment centers, mental health professionals, and families; to assist in transitioning individuals in recovery treatment centers to long-term recovery as they ease back into life while maintaining sobriety.

The founder

Founder of the Reuben Center has walked the life of an addict and is passionate about helping lead others to a life of sobriety as he has, by keeping recovery alive! The Reuben Center has a specific realistic approach to recovery. This realistic approach consists of providing real life scenarios, such as structured day-day tasks and holding a steady job, while in a stable sober living environment we call the Reuben Community. We believe these real-life scenarios aid individuals greatly in recovery.

The Reuben Center keep’s recovery alive by not creating a false reality to represent society; ultimately, preparing individuals for their next step after their residency. We believe the real-life scenario’s paired with the supportive comradery of the Reuben Center Community is a crucial part to long-term recovery.

“Let Reuben live and not die, nor his people be few” Duet. 33:6

The Reuben Center launched its first Mentoring Home in 2016 with hopes of future expansion guided by the needs of communities in which it serves. The Reuben Center is in dedication to honor George and Connie Thymes and their dreams of creating the Rueben Centers.

The Reuben Center currently has one Mentoring Home: a four bedroom, approx. 2,300 sq. ft. Victorian-style home built in 1909. Just a couple blocks from Noble in Guthrie, Oklahoma, this property offers the ideal location for men in early recovery to call home.

Mixed with the just right amount of distance from the city and yet close enough to nature; its cozy-comfort is the perfect and realistic way to ease back into the day-day life.

Being a Christian is more than just an instantaneous conversion – it is a daily process whereby you grow to be more and more like Christ.

Billy Graham

Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.

Martin Luther King, Jr.

God cannot give us a happiness and peace apart from Himself, because it is not there. There is no such thing.
